Dhumapana is an Ayurvedic practice of inhaling medicinal smoke from specific herbs to treat various ailments, particularly those related to the respiratory system, head, and throat.
Dhumapana can help with respiratory problems like asthma and sinusitis, headaches, throat issues, nasal congestion, and certain skin and neurological conditions.
Dhumapana should be practiced under the guidance of an Ayurvedic practitioner. It may not be suitable for individuals with certain conditions like extreme Pitta imbalance, dry respiratory disorders, or those sensitive to smoke.
If not done properly, Dhumapana may cause throat irritation, dizziness, or dry respiratory passages. Always follow guidelines to minimize risks.
While Dhumapana involves inhaling smoke, it’s different from harmful smoking practices. The herbs used in Dhumapana are therapeutic and meant for healing, not recreational use.
